Good to be back in Guatemala. Our container has been released after 28 days, praise God, and on it’s way to Coban. Pastor Sergio has been leading a Bible Study in the village of Chitu for the last several months. Around 15 - 20 people attend. They have been going over the books of the Bible, the origin and history, and some of the Old Testament. They were amazed to be reading some of the Old Testament and even reviewing the creation of the earth. Recently Sergio gave an exam to see how well they are retaining the information and to see how the Bible Study is going in their life. They all did a great job and 2 of them got 100%. The maternity house in Santa Marta has been going up quickly. Funds were donated and the men of the village have donated their time to build. The families of the village of Santa Marta have pooled together to hire an Albañil, who is a builder, and is able to lead them in the project. It is important to have buy in from the community, and they have willingly accepted those terms in order to have a maternity clinic in their community. At the end of construction, we’ll have a place to start another Bible study. Praise God for the Churches and donors who’ve put money and materials toward this project through Seeds to Harvest.(See photos below). Christmas is coming and we would like to bless 120 children of the communities of Chitu, and the children in Sergio’s kids club at his church near San Pedro Carchá, with a small gift. We will be sharing with the communities the reason why we celebrate Christmas, and funding permitting, we’ll hand out gifts, have some cake and punch, and expand our relationship with the communities. As the Christmas season approaches, and you consider how much is spent in North America, please consider donating for a gift or gifts for these children. These are very poor communities and it would be such a blessing for them. Thank you for praying for and partnering financially with our ministry as we seek to bring the truth of the Gospel to the people of Guatemala.
