Wow where has the year gone! Its been a busy one for us with 2 moves happening one in Canada moving from Victoria to Nakusp and in Guatemala from Antigua to Coban. God has blessed us with each move. We both love the quiet of countryside, and we are fortunate to be living in the countryside in both countries. We have the added blessing of another grandchild expected to arrive around the end of March 2020. This will be our 8th grandchild. We are spending our first Christmas in Guatemala this year with Leah and Chris and the grandkids and it is a little different for sure without the Canadian snow!! However, we do have a few poinsettia trees, yes, actual trees, and they are beautiful this time of year (see picture below). We have been busy with ministry since returning November 5th and have a busy few months ahead of us. We continue to work in the village of Chitu where we built the first maternity clinic. Sergio continues with a Bible Study twice a month, and it is well attended. Construction continues with the maternity clinic in the village of Santa Marta and is close to being done. We continue to visit villages, by invitation, to show our films, and provide the Gleaners food, usually through the Pastors or community leaders to the most vulnerable in those villages. We have been helping Sergio´s church with a hospital visit once a month or so. They prepare ponche with the dehydrated apples, and are allowed to go in to the Children´s ward, which is always full, provide the apple drink and pray with the families. It always feels like such a sad and hopeless place and we pray that they sense the love of the Lord in these visits. On the next visit we will be providing gleaners soup and tortillas. We just had our Christmas events in two villages and thanks to many generous donations, were able to provide gifts to over 120 children and 10 seniors. These gifts included toys, but also some practical items as well, such as blankets, soap, etc. These children come from very poor families and it was such a joy to see their faces as they received these gifts. Just makes it all so worthwhile. We are looking forward to sharing our ministry with the Gleaners team, coming mid January and Shiloh church from Alabama beginning of March. We want to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and many blessings in the New Year.
